Former Super Eagles utility player Garba Lawal has told www.tribalsports.net that Flying Eagles gifted winger Sucess Makanjuola deserves to be in the starting line up in against Ukraine The Nigerian team will face Ukraine in the final game of Group D of the ongoing FIFA U20 tournament taking place in Poland. It is a must win game for Paul Aigbogun and the lads but Garba believes that Makanjuola has what it takes to be in the starting line up. "Considering what the regular starter has offered,  I watched closely in the two matches to know he has something different as a natural left footed player. The former FC Roda player concluded by saying, "Don't forget he is the only left footed player  among all the wingers in the team so, he can use that to help the team now that they need to win their last game to qualify."

The Niger State Football Association Elective Congress held on Sunday (May 26, 2019) in the City of Mokwa, Niger State witnessed an overwhelming majority of the Congress re-elected incumbent Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf Fresh for another Four-year term as the Chairman of Niger State FA. The Elective Congress was supervised by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) representatives, NFF Executive Member and Nasarawa State FA Chairman Alhaji Mohammed Akali and Top NFF Protocol Officer, Mr Barnabas Joro. The Elective Congress was declared open by Doctor Usman Nagogo 'Sonfada' who represented the Emir 'Ndalile' of Mokwa Community at the Sogbafo city hall Hotel. During the polls, which was conducted by the Niger State FA Electoral Committee headed by Justice Abdullahi Nasir Danlami, the incumbent Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf Fresh pulled the majority votes of 31 to be re-elected as Chairman of Niger FA for his fifth term in office, joining the list of  longest serving and loving FA

Flying Eagles forward Success Makanjuola enjoyed the perfect birthday present from his teammates on Friday as he celebrated turning 18 with Nigeria 4-0 win over Qatar in the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup Group D fixture. The Water FC forward has said before the game that he would be the happiest player in Poland if Nigeria win their first game at the World Cup on his birthday. Effiong Maxwell opened scoring for Nigeria in the 12th minute, Henry Offia doubled the lead 12 minutes later as Nigeria U20 Boys took a 2-0 lead at half time. Nigeria came into the second half and continued from where they stopped, Ayotomiwa Dele-Bashiru increased the lead in the 68th minute while defender Aliu Salawudeen wrapped up the victory in an emphatic show with the fourth goal in the 75th minute. FOR THE RECORDS RE: NIGERIA FOOTBALL FEDERATION (NFF) DENIES ALLEGED CHARGES BY FG

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) notes that it has been inundated with enquiries about charges allegedly filed against its leadership (Amaju Melvin Pinnick, Seyi Akinwunmi, Shehu Dikko, Ahmed Fresh and Mohammed Sanusi) by the Federal Government of Nigeria. NFF denies that FG has filed any such charges. NFF states that the orchestrated media blitz about the existence of such charges is nothing but the desperate and malicious efforts of the Chief Okoi Obono-Obla led Special Presidential Investigative Panel (SPIP) to lend itself as an instrument of cheap blackmail in the fight for the political leadership of NFF. Currently pending before the Federal High Court, Abuja is Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/17/2019 filed by NFF against SPIP and 3 others, including Chief Obono-Obla himself. NFF in the suit is challenging the competence of SPIP under the law to purport to investigate or prosecute NFF or its leadership. ABS, La Planet sign MoU on players development

Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC and La Planet Sport Academia, a sport academy based in Kwara have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on exchange of players for developmental purposes. The signing of the MoU which took place in Ilorin on Tuesday, attracted sports stakeholders across the state and some business moguls. In the agreement entered in the MoU, La Planet Sport Academia shall be sending players for developmental purposes to ABS Ilorin FC. According to the MoU, ABS Ilorin FC has agreed to be giving technical support to coaches and players of La Planet Sport Academia while it will also build a football business relationship with the academy. Speaking at the ceremony, the Kwara Director of Sports, Malam Tunde Kazeem, said the sports council would continue to give support to persons or groups that is showing interest in development of athletes especially at the grassroots.
