Fresh commends Eagles as Nigeria loom as title favourites

Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, Alhaji Yusuf Ahmed has praised the resoluteness of the Super Eagles following their 2-1 win over Angola on Sunday that took Nigeria to the semi finals of the African Nations Championship for only the second time ever. “The boys have really and truly done Nigeria proud. There are still battles to conquer but we must commend them for overcoming strong oppositions right from the group stage to make it to the last four. “Of course, it is one match at a time. But I am happy that we have a team that has been showing excellent spirit and resilience, and I see them going all the way.” Nigeria have been in the CHAN’s last four only once before – when the squad coached by Stephen Keshi (of blessed memory) eventually took the bronze medals at the 2014 finals in South Africa. Come –back kings, Nigeria have now emerged as real title favourites after a creditable day-in-the-office against Angola on Sunday. The Super Ea

Press Conference: Salisu, Vasiljevic speaks ahead of today's game

Salisu Yusuf (Head Coach, Nigeria) In football, you have to be suspicious on the pitch, especially at the knockout stage. You have to be careful on the field and that's what I have asked my players. We will play to win. Our goal remains the same, to go farthest in the competition. It will not be easy for us against a tricky Angola team. They are a team that generally adopts a defensive strategy and operates on the counter attacks. They have a very solid defence. There is some pressure on us because the ministry and even the federation want a positive result from us. There is also the expectation of Nigerians and the players are aware. After our first match against Rwanda, we worked a lot. It allowed us to qualify to the quarterfinals by topping our group and stay in Tangiers, a city we have acclimatized well. Srdjan Vasiljevic (Head Coach, Angola) The quarterfinal will be very difficult because we will face one of the best teams of this tournament.

A review of the previous days and tonight Nigeria will begin their campaign against Rwanda.  It was a boring trip but smooth flight from Lagos on Saturday morning to Casablanca, despite paying up to  $1,000  for the flight what Royal Air Maroc could offered me was snacks and a cup of water, chaii no eba and okro soup. I couldn’t watch anything, no TV screen for Yoruba Africa Magic, LOL! I had to sleep all through with Fuji music to my ears, Pasuma was live inside the flight through my phone, Smile! On arrival in Casablanca at 9.35am local time (10.30am Nigeria time) first thing I noticed was that Royal Air Maroc celebrated 60 years of existence in 2017 and I asked where's Nigeria Airways? Sad face! Royal Air Maroc have done a lot of good to improve Morocco economy through aviation, boarded flight with Nigerians going to several countries, London, Spain, US and many more. You can ima
