13 January 2024 kick-off date set for Africa’s biggest event

  The TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023 dates have been officially confirmed by CAF, with the opening match scheduled to take place on Saturday, 13 January 2024 at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan. The four-week tournament, pitting Africa’s best 24 nations will officially conclude on 11 February 2024. This will be the 34th edition of the tournament and returns to Cote d’Ivoire for the second time after first being held there in 1984, where Cameroon emerged as winners for the first time. NPFL MatchDay 11 Roundup: Huge gains for Remo Stars, Abia Warriors and Tornadoes

Results from MatchDay 11 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) didn't alter the leadership status in both groups but it was Remo Stars, Abia Warriors and Niger Tornadoes that made significant gains on the log.  The midweek fixtures produced a total of 21 goals from nine matches played Wednesday evening with the top of Group B tie involving Rivers United and Lobi Stars postponed. The Port Harcourt side are involved in the CAF Confederation Cup away in Cote d'Ivoire. The clash of leaders in group A between Bendel Insurance and Akwa United failed to produce a winner after both sides settled for a 1-1 draw in Benin. Insurance were quickest off the block, taking the lead in the 2nd minute with in-form striker, Imade Osarenkhoe scoring. However Akwa United equalized before half time through Cyril Olisema in the 38th minute. IMC Praise Rivers United's Confederation Cup Performance

The Head of Operations of the Interim Management Committee (IMC), Davidson Owumi has congratulated the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) cup holders, Rivers United for reaching the quarter finals stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after a 2-2 draw at home to Diables Noir of Congo Brazzaville. Owumi said the performance of the nation's representatives in Group B of the CAF Club competition has so far shown that they have the capacity as a team in both personnel and organisation to win the competition. Rivers United on Sunday secured a place in the quarter-finals of the 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup on MatchDay 5 of the group fixtures at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. AFCON 2023 Race: Fans to pay N2,000 and N10,000 to watch Super Eagles take on Wild Dogs
