NWPL Matchday 11 Preview

Top game of the matchday 11 is in Oshogbo between Osun Babes and Confluence Queens. Reigning Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) champions, Rivers Angels, will be hoping to complete the double over FC Robo Queens in Lagos.

Here we take a look at the tantalising games on offer in the elite division:

Sunshine Queens Vs Heartland Queens

Heartland Queens will light up the Akure City in search of the golden fleece. They struggled and lost 2-0 to Abia Angels last Wednesday.

Sunshine Queens are gradually getting into their strides, with one win and one draw in their last two games.

When both teams met in the first stanza in this same fixture, Heartland won 3-1. Can they re-enact that? Or will the Owena Mermaids claim their scalp?

FC Robo Queens Vs Rivers Angels

Both clubs will meet inside the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium. It is surely a game that is expected to keep fans at the edge of their seats for the entire duration.

Four points separate both teams with Rivers Angels second in the table on 16 points.

Rivers Angels have not lost in two consecutive matches while FC Robo are hoping to end their run of three games without a win. Definitely this should be an interesting contest.

Abia Angels Vs Bayelsa Queens

Abia Angels have been up and doing so far. With one win and a draw recently confidence has been restored in the team. They lost to Bayelsa Queens 4-0 in the first leg clash at the Nembe City Stadium.

The Aba girls will have to show solidity at the back as they will face a pacy Bayelsa Queens with Tessy Biawho, Joy Bokiri, Aminat Yakubu and Macleans Okogba.

Vivian Ikechukwu, Godson Ojiogu, Monle Omini and Aaron Grace are among players coach Ann Chiejine will be banking on for a result.

Osun Babes Vs Confluence Queens

The Group B fixture between Osun Babes and Confluence Queens will without doubt headline week 11 matches across the country.

Bashirat Amoo and Mary Saiki will go back to the club they featured for in the past.

Osun Babes have made the Oshogbo Township Stadium their favourite hunting ground as they are yet to lose at home in this campaign.

The likes of Edewor Precious, Mary Anjor, Marcus Grace and Kemi Abiodun are the major reasons the Omoluabi Queens have been flying this season.

However, the New Direction Queens will hope to end their four-match winless run, and in former Osun Babes nippy winger Abibat Agbaji, they have a genuine match winner. The crafty winger should be well complemented by Ifeoma Polinus, Chidinma Anuruo and Mercy Idoko.

Saadatu Amazon Vs Delta Queens

Can Saadatu Amazons stop a Delta Queens side who have been enjoying a splendid run that included accounting for the scalp of Edo Queens 3-1 last midweek.

Coach Yusuf Ladan has Alvin Dahz, Becky Ajadi and Chioma Okoye fired up for this match.

Delta Queens will depend on the quartet of Ijeoma Obi, Maryann Ezenagu, Amirat Saheed and Margaret Etim for a win. This is going to be a thriller in Minna.

Edo Queens Vs Nasarawa Amazons

Edo Queens will surely need to be at their best to carve out a result from Nasarawa Amazons at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

Powerful striker, Anam Imo, will lead the attack for Nasarawa Amazons, with Amarachi Okoronkwo and Josephine Mathias, pulling the strings from midfield.

Pundits have already favoured Nasarawa Amazons to win but Edo Queens have an interesting setup of players like their leading scorer, Vivian Uwandi, Destiny Umeuzor and Bunmi Kayode to count on.

Pelican Stars Vs Adamawa Queens

The grass at the UJ Esuene Stadium will surely suffer after 90 minutes of hostilities in the cracker between Pelican Stars and Adamawa Queens.

Parading the likes of Regina Omede, Nina Gilbert, Doshinma Tarnu and Wachukwu Oluchi the Yola girls would be in for a tough match. With the rich form of Aminat Waheed, Alex Faith, Blessing Edoho and Moses Pato, the Calabar outfit are capable of picking the maximum points at stake.
