Haye vows to knock out Klitschko

WBA heavyweight
champion David Haye
has pledged to knock
out IBF and WBO
champion Wladimir
Klitschko when they
fight in Germany in the
summer.
The British fighter is set to
take on the Ukrainian in a
football stadium on either 25
June or 2 July.
"I just can't wait for that first
bell to ring so I can run
across the ring to stick one
on his chin," Haye, 30, told
BBC Radio 5 live.
Haye added: "Wladimir
Klitschko is getting violently
knocked out."
Despite Haye's apparent
confidence, British
bookmakers rate Klitschko
the favourite, and the
Londoner knows he will face
a battle.
"He's considered by a lot of
people who aren't big fans of
mine to be number one in the
heavyweight division," Haye
told 5 live.
"He holds the IBF and WBO
titles. I'm obviously the WBA
champion and once and for
all we are going to get in the
ring and decide who's the
best.
"Wladimir's been knocked out
a couple of times before. I'm
looking at reminding him
about his chin and reminding
him that he is human."

The on-off saga of whether
Haye would fight Wladimir, or
elder brother Vitali - the
WBC champion - has been
running for more than a
year.
A crucial obstacle was
removed on Saturday when
Klitschko withdrew from his
bout against Britain's Dereck
Chisora, which had been
scheduled for 30 April.
Haye said the deal to fight in
Germany was finalised on
Saturday night.
"I've signed on the dotted
line, I'm ready to go to war
and bring those titles back to
Britain," said the boxer, who
is nicknamed The Hayemaker.
"I was always adamant that
as we are both champions we
would get a 50-50 split,
even though I put more into
the pot. A 50-50 split is fair
and that's all I wanted.
"He tried to duck and dive
but, at the end of the day,
he's realised that 50% of the
money we generate is four
or five times what would be
generated by anybody else.
"In boxing, money talks and
it has done on this occasion
and we've finally got the
fight that the world wants to
see. It came about by
agreeing with a lot of his
terms.
"He was not willing to come
and fight in England, he's not
that type of character,
whereas I have won all my
titles on foreign soil.
"I went to France to win the
cruiserweight championship
of the world, and went to
Germany to fight the 7ft 2in
Russian Nikolai Valuev.
I have the heart of a
lion, whereas Wladimir
has the heart of a hyena
David Haye
The fight against Wladimir
will be Haye's first for seven
months following his
controversial defeat of fellow
Brition Audley Harrison.
Haye won after a third-round
stoppage against an
opponent who landed only
one blow.
But Haye insists, despite the
break, that he will be in
prime condition for his next
encounter.
"It wasn't a competitive
fight," said Haye of the
Harrison contest. "This guy
has got some skills. He's nice
and strong.
"Wladimir Klitschko is big.
He's 6ft 7in. He's a monster
of a man and he will get the
same treatment that Nikolai
Valuev got. He got rocked
really badly in that last
round and had never been
hurt before.
"I'm just looking forward to
getting out to Germany and
ripping these titles off him
and getting back home.
"I've been in Miami for a
couple of months training. I'm
already in decent shape.
"I've always tried to push
the boundaries and ensure
I'm in better condition and it'll
be no different with this fight.
"Wladimir is a great specimen
of a human being. He is very
athletic, very fast, very
coordinated for a big man so
I need to be on my A-game.
"I can't go out there half-
hearted, I've got to be in
perfect condition and I know
how to get myself there.
"I consider Wladimir a better
fighter than Valuev, he's
more adaptable."
Victory over Wladimir could
pave the way for a
swansong bout against the
Ukrainian's brother, Vitali.
"I've set my retirement date
for my 31st birthday, which
is October 13th, and said I
would have two more fights
before then," he said.
"In an ideal world, I would get
rid of Wladimir and then
hopefully his brother stays
unbeaten and I can fight his
big brother afterwards."
Speaking later on his official
website Haye threw more
verbal blows at his
forthcoming opponent.
"This is an inevitable fight
with an inevitable conclusion.
Wladimir Klitschko is getting
violently knocked out," said
Haye.
He added: "Klitschko is
ready-made for me. I eat tall,
chinny Eastern European
heavyweights for breakfast.
"Wladimir is a fighter that
doesn't like to fight, and he
has admitted that fact in the
past. Unfortunately for him, I
am a fighter that loves
nothing more than fighting.
"I have the heart of a lion,
whereas Wladimir has the
heart of a hyena. He cries
and squeals and slips into
the wilderness at the first
sign of danger
