Foreign based players arrived the u-23 camp

PSV Eindhoven midfielder
Rabiu Ibrahim is among six
foreign based players that
have arrived the camp of the
Under-23 team ahead of this
weekend ’s second leg
qualifier against Equatorial
Guinea in Malabo.
Also in camp are goal keeper
Dele Ajiboye, Ibok Edet,
Micheal Essang, Arinze
Ikenna and Uchechi Daniel.
All six players made the final
20-man list that would fly out
to Malabo on Friday.
Coach Austine Eguavoen
explained to SuperSport.com
that Netherland based
Uchebo Okechukwu would not
be available for the game
against Equatorial Guinea but
would make the trip for the
All Africa games qualifier
against Liberia.
“Uchebo would have been
here for the Malabo game but
he could not get a connecting
flight, so we have decided to
leave him out for the game
against Equatorial Guinea.
“Team Captain, Haruna
Lukman, was eager to come
for the game but his club
needs him for this weekend’s
game against Lille in the
French League, ” Eguavoen
told SuperSport.com.
The former Super Eagles
coach however expressed
confidence in the crop of
players he is taking to
Malabo insisting that they
would deliver.
“We are going with a five nil
win from the first leg and I
believe we will get nothing
less that victory in Malabo
but the worst case scenario
will be a draw. ”
The national U23 team,
Dream Team will fly out to
Malabo, capital of Equatorial
Guinea on Friday, ahead of
Sunday ’s return leg.
The team is expected to
travel through Cotonou,
Benin Republic and arrive in
Malabo in the early evening.
