Ozubulu Massacre: Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah Commiserates, Called For A Fervent Prayer For The Quick Recuperation Of The Injured Faithfuls

Frontline Peoples Democratic Party, PDP aspirant for the November 18, 2017 Anambra State Gubernatorial election, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, has condoled with the families of victims of last Sunday’s attack on St. Philips Catholic Church Ozubulu, Anambra State.

This is even as he called for a fervent prayer for the quick recuperation of the injured.

It would be recalled that during the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL Match Day 33, between FC Ifeanyi Ubah vs. Nasarawa United, at the Ifeanyi Ubah International Stadium, Nnewi/Ozubulu, FC Ifeanyi Ubah players wore black bands to mourn the departed, even as there was an observation of a 1-minute Silence as a mark of respect for the departed.

Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, and other eminent dignitaries were on ground to watch the match which ended 1-0 in favour of FC Ifeanyi Ubah.

In a statement, Dr. Ubah said: “In this time of bereft, I wish to offer our sincere commiseration to the families of those lost at the unfortunate incident that took place on the 6th of August, 2017 at St. Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu.

“Words may not suffice to express the heartfelt sympathy that I feel for the untimely loss of your loved ones, but please accept my deepest condolence for the immeasurable and irreparable loss.

“My sincere prayer is that the memories of all the happy times shared with your loved ones will, over time, ease the hurt and grief that you all feel as a result of the bereavement.

“As the country remains in a state of mourning over the ill-fated incident, I wish to call on each and every one of us to use this period to pray for Nigeria fervently and without ceasing while we work assiduously towards ensuring that those injured during the attack recover fully and quickly.”

“May the good Lord bestow on the bereaved, the much needed solace during this sad time and may the gentle souls of the departed rest in the bosom of our Lord. *#PrayForOzubulu,” the statement added.*
