African Games gold medal will be precious birthday gift - Emeka Chinonso
Flying Eagles top striker Emeka Chinonso has said, he will be the most happiest player in the world if Nigeria beat Burkina Faso in today's 2019 African Games to claim the Gold medal.
The tall lanky striker is celebrating is 18th year birthday in Rabat as the 2019 African Games final in the men's event beckon this evening at 5pm Nigeria time.
Chinonso has been instrumental to Paul Aigbogun's team in Rabat, getting on the scorer sheet with impressive performances since he made his debut in the group stage.
"I will be the happiest man in the world if we beat Burkina Faso to win the Gold medal, it will be precious to me and I will cherish the moment for life. To win a Medal for my dear country on my Birthday will be my career biggest highlight," said Chinonso.
Nigeria and Burkina Faso played a 1-1 draw in the Group stage in Rabat. However, Nigeria's women's team won Gold yesterday in the football event.
"We know each other so much, we played an interesting game in the group stage, but we have enough motivation this time. Our girls won yesterday and we are propelled to compliment the success. We have worked hard and I am optimistic we'll finish on the podium with the Gold medal," Chinonso concluded.
